Dell Latitude 5480 14" Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude 5480 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-7820HQ processor running at 2.90GHz. It comes equipped with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB SATA solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and ready for immediate use.

Upgrade From Older Core i5 or 8GB Systems

This unit replaces ageing laptops limited to dual-core processors or 8GB of RAM. The jump to a quad-core i7-7820HQ and 16GB DDR4 is worth it when daily workloads involve heavy multitasking, large spreadsheets or virtual machines. The 256GB SSD also removes the bottleneck of a mechanical hard drive.

Suits Mobile Professionals Needing Pro OS

This configuration suits professionals who require Windows 10 Pro management features and a compact 14 inch form factor for travel. Buyers who need more storage capacity or a dedicated graphics processor for intensive rendering should look at alternative models. The 16GB memory ceiling also limits users planning extensive RAM upgrades.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern secures the 14.0" display panel to the chassis?

The 14.0" display attaches with standard Dell Latitude hinge screws; remove the bezel screws first, then the two hinge bolts on each side.

How is the 256GB SATA/SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

Slide the 256GB SATA/SSD into the 2.5" bay, connect the SATA cable, then secure the caddy screw — many forget to re-seat the cable firmly.

Which component will need replacement first under daily use?

The 16GB DDR4 modules are soldered, so the 256GB SATA/SSD is the only user-replaceable part likely to wear out.
