Dell Latitude 5490 14-inch business laptop

This Dell Latitude 5490 is a 14-inch laptop built for office work and mobile professionals. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor with a base speed of 1.60GHz. The system includes 32GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the 1366 x 768 non-touch display.

Suits users needing high memory in a compact chassis

The 32GB RAM configuration handles heavy multitasking and virtual machines well. Buyers who want a touchscreen, a higher resolution panel, or a dedicated graphics card should look at other models. The 1366 x 768 screen limits detailed visual work. Cosmetic wear includes scratches, scuffs, and possible minor cracks on the casing.

32GB memory and 256GB SSD define capacity

The installed 32GB memory across two slots sets the multitasking ceiling for this unit. The 256GB solid-state drive provides the primary storage volume. Actual usable SSD capacity may range between 240GB and 256GB. No optical drive or mechanical hard drive is fitted.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 256 GB M.2 SSD and what step is often missed?

The 256 GB M.2 SSD is already installed. If you add a second drive, secure it with the motherboard screw; the step often missed is re-enabling the drive in BIOS after fitting.

What maintenance or replacement will the 32 GB memory configuration need later?

The 32 GB memory fills both slots. Future upgrades require replacing the existing modules; otherwise no routine memory maintenance is required.

What limit appears first on the Intel HD Graphics 620 during sustained workloads?

The Intel HD Graphics 620 shares system memory and hits its thermal and bandwidth ceiling first during prolonged 3D or video tasks.
