Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Deciding specification: 32GB memory and 128GB SSD

The combination of 32GB memory and a 128GB SSD determines if this unit fits your workload. The 32GB allows heavy multitasking while the 128GB drive limits local storage for large files. Check that this memory and storage balance matches your requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

What display cable do I need to connect an external monitor to the HDMI port on this Latitude 5490?

The 14.0" FHD panel runs at 1920 x 1080, so a standard HDMI cable will carry that resolution to an external screen without any adapter.

Will the Intel HD Graphics 620 drive a second 1080p monitor while the built-in 14.0" 1920 x 1080 display stays active?

Yes, the integrated GPU supports dual-display output, so you can extend or mirror the internal FHD panel to another 1080p screen simultaneously.

How can I verify the 32GB of installed memory is recognised after the first boot?

Open Settings > System > About in Windows 10 Home; the Device specifications line will show 32GB RAM confirmed by the OS.
