Dell Latitude 5510 Core i7 10th Gen

The Dell Latitude 5510 is a 15.6 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7 10th Gen processor with a minimum speed of 1.80GHz. It comes with 8GB of memory and a 512GB SSD that may range from 480GB to 512GB of usable capacity. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed with a hard disk based recovery image. This unit suits professionals needing a reliable portable workstation for office applications and web tasks.

Thermals noise and power draw

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares system memory and generates modest heat during typical productivity workloads. Fan activity remains audible but restrained when running standard business software or streaming video. Power consumption stays low enough for all day battery life under light use though heavy multitasking will reduce runtime. The non touch 1366 x 768 WXGA LED backlit display draws minimal power compared to higher resolution panels.

Bundled accessories and software

Windows 11 Pro includes the recovery image stored on the drive allowing a clean system restore without external media. No optical drive is fitted so software installation relies on downloads or USB media. The laptop features Bluetooth and a webcam for video conferencing. Two memory slots are present with one occupied enabling a future upgrade. Buyers who need a backlit keyboard or a touchscreen should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 512GB M.2 SSD and which step do people often miss?

Slide the 512GB M.2 SSD into the slot at a slight angle, press it flat and secure it with the single retention screw; the step people miss is re-enabling the drive in BIOS so Windows 11 Pro can see the full 480GB to 512GB capacity.

What maintenance or replacement will the 8GB memory need later?

The laptop has two memory slots with 8GB installed; you can add a second module up to the board limit or replace both sticks for more capacity, and the only ongoing maintenance is keeping the slots dust-free.

What limit appears first on the Intel UHD Graphics during sustained workloads?

The integrated GPU shares system memory, so the 8GB RAM ceiling and thermal throttling of the 1.80GHz Core i7 10th Gen processor are the first limits you hit under heavy graphics loads.
