Genuine Dell touchpad ribbon cable

This genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable connects the touchpad assembly on supported Latitude and Precision laptops. It fits Latitude 5580, 5590 and 5591 models as well as Precision 3520 and 3530 units. The part restores full touchpad communication when the original flex is damaged. Installation requires partial disassembly of the palm-rest area.

Direct replacement for worn flex cables

The cable replaces a torn or intermittent original without any adapter or firmware change. It carries the touchpad signal traces exactly as the factory part does, so cursor control and gestures return to normal. No extra brackets, screws or software are included in the package. The repair is purely mechanical and electrical.

Five supported chassis, one part number

The single CDM80 / NBX00023E00 part serves five different chassis codes across two product families. It handles the trackpad data path for all listed models but does not extend to other Latitude or Precision series. Buyers with unsupported model numbers will need a different cable. The flex length and connector pitch are fixed for the listed systems only.

Questions about this item

How often does the CDM80 touchpad ribbon cable need replacement under normal use?

The CDM80 ribbon cable is a passive component with no moving parts and no defined service interval; it typically lasts the lifetime of the laptop unless physically damaged during disassembly.

What is the first limitation that appears when the CDM80 cable is used continuously in a Latitude 5580?

The CDM80 cable carries only low-voltage touchpad signals, so sustained use does not create thermal or electrical limits; the first limitation would be physical wear if the hinge area is repeatedly flexed.

Does the NBX00023E00 cable generate any noticeable heat or noise during all-day operation?

The NBX00023E00 ribbon cable is a passive signal carrier with no active electronics, so it produces zero heat and zero audible noise regardless of how long the system runs.
