Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6-inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with a base clock of 1.70 GHz and 6 MB L2 cache. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drive the non-touch FHD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Suits office workers needing a reliable daily driver

Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. The integrated graphics and 8 GB DDR4 memory limit heavy creative workloads. Users requiring a touchscreen or an optical drive will not find those features here.

256 GB SSD capacity defines storage headroom

The 256 GB solid-state drive holds the operating system and core applications with modest space for local files. Large media libraries or virtual machines will quickly fill the drive, so plan for cloud storage or external expansion.

Questions about this item

How much fan noise and heat does the 1.7 GHz quad-core i5-8350U produce during all-day use?

The 15 W class i5-8350U runs at 1.7 GHz base and 3.6 GHz boost; the Latitude 5590 chassis is designed for office workloads, so fan noise stays low and surface temperatures remain comfortable during typical business hours.

Which cables or peripherals must I already have to use the HDMI, USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB Type-C ports?

You need an HDMI cable for external displays, standard USB-A devices for the three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one supports PowerShare charging), and a USB-C cable or adapter for the single USB Type-C port.

Will my older USB 2.0 flash drives and 100 Mbps Ethernet switch work reliably with this laptop?

Yes — the three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, and the Gigabit LAN port negotiates down to 100 Mbps automatically.
