Purpose-built business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6-inch Full HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor running at 1.7 GHz with a turbo up to 3.6 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the non-touch 1920 x 1080 display.

Suited to office and mobile professionals

This configuration suits users who need a reliable Windows 11 machine for productivity, video calls and multi-tasking on a 15.6-inch screen. The quad-core CPU, 32 GB of RAM and fast SSD handle typical business workloads smoothly. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics card for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere, as the system relies on integrated graphics only.

Deciding specification: 32 GB DDR4 memory

The installed 32 GB of DDR4 memory is the single figure that determines whether this unit meets your workload demands. It supports heavy browser sessions, virtual machines and large documents without paging. If your applications need more memory than this, the laptop will not be adequate.

Questions about this item

Does the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port on this Latitude 5590 carry video or charging?

The USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port supports data only; video output uses the HDMI port and charging uses the barrel connector.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and screw pattern for a docking station or sleeve?

Dell does not publish the millimetre measurements or screw-hole layout for the 5590 in the supplied data.

Is there a BIOS setting or driver step that enables the USB-C port for DisplayPort alt-mode?

No, the hardware does not wire DisplayPort alt-mode to the USB-C port, so no BIOS toggle or driver can add it.
