Business-ready 14" laptop

The DELL Latitude 7420 is a new 14.0-inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor with a 4.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The non-touch FHD display resolves at 1920 x 1080. Integrated graphics handle the visual output.

Suits mobile professionals, not gamers

This configuration suits professionals who need a lightweight, carbon-fibre chassis for daily office applications, video calls and web-based workflows. The backlit keyboard and integrated webcam support long typing sessions and conferences. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering, gaming or heavy CAD workloads should look elsewhere, as the integrated graphics cannot meet those demands.

256GB SSD and 16GB RAM headroom

The 256GB solid-state drive provides fast boot times and enough space for the operating system, core business software and active project files. The 16GB memory allowance keeps multiple browser tabs, Office suites and collaboration tools running smoothly. Storage runs out once large media libraries or virtual-machine images are added, and memory becomes tight with heavy multitasking or memory-intensive development environments.

Questions about this item

What operating system must already be licensed for the Latitude 7420 to activate?

The laptop ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and activated, so no separate OS licence is required.

Will the 802.11ac wireless card in the 7420 connect to my older 802.11n router?

Yes, the 802.11ac radio is backward-compatible with 802.11n networks, so it will join your existing router at 802.11n speeds.

How can I confirm the Core i7-1185G7 is hitting its 4.4 GHz turbo after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, watch the CPU clock speed while running a heavy single-thread load; it should spike to 4.4 GHz.
