Business ultrabook with dual storage

The Dell Latitude 7000 E7440 is a 14.0 inch business notebook built around a dual-core Intel Core i5-4200U processor. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 128 GB mSATA SSD and adds a 1 TB hard drive for bulk data. Eight gigabytes of DDR3 memory in a 4 GB x 2 configuration supports everyday office workloads.

Suited for mobile office work, not heavy graphics

This machine fits professionals who need a lightweight silver chassis with HDMI and VGA outputs for external displays. The integrated Intel HD Graphics and 1360 x 768 non-touch panel limit suitability for video editing, 3D rendering or modern gaming. Buyers who want a higher resolution screen or discrete graphics should look at something else.

Steady performance within thermal limits

The 1.6 to 1.9 GHz processor maintains consistent speeds for document handling, web browsing and video playback during extended sessions. The SSD keeps boot and application launches responsive while the hard drive handles large file archives without slowing the system. Integrated graphics share system memory, so sustained 3D loads will throttle frame rates.

Questions about this item

What DDR3 memory must I already have to match the installed 4 GB x 2 configuration?

The laptop ships with two 4 GB DDR3 SODIMM modules totalling 8 GB; any additional or replacement memory must be DDR3 SODIMM to fit the slots.

Can I keep using a VGA monitor with the HDMI and VGA outputs on this E7440?

Yes, the unit provides both HDMI and VGA ports so an older VGA display connects directly while a newer HDMI screen can run at the same time.

How do I confirm the 128 GB mSATA SSD and 1 TB hard drive are both recognised after setup?

Open Windows 10 Pro Disk Management or File Explorer — you should see a 128 GB drive (OS) and a second drive showing roughly 1000 GB capacity.
