Built for harsh field use

The Dell Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme is a fully rugged tablet designed to withstand extreme environments such as construction sites, warehouses and military operations. Its 11.6 inch touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 resolution supports outdoor productivity and data capture. An Intel Core i5-7300U processor up to 3.50 GHz handles mission-critical mobile workflows.

8 GB memory and 128 GB SSD

The configuration provides 8 GB of system memory paired with a 128 GB solid-state drive for the operating system and local files. Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the display without a discrete GPU. No operating system is included, so the buyer must supply and install one separately.

Low battery health limits mobile runtime

The unit is sold with low battery health, which reduces untethered operating time in the field. Users who need all-day operation away from power should plan for a replacement battery or constant charging. The tablet weighs 3.2000 units and includes a webcam for remote collaboration.

Questions about this item

How often will the battery need replacing given the LowBattHealth flag?

The LowBattHealth note means the internal battery already holds less charge than when new, so a replacement will be required sooner than on a unit with a healthy battery.

What thermal limit appears first when the Core i5-7300U runs at 3.50GHz for long periods?

The Intel HD Graphics 620 shares the same thermal envelope as the CPU, so sustained 3.50GHz loads will hit the tablet's fanless cooling ceiling before the processor reaches its own throttle point.

How loud does the cooling get during an all-day shift?

The Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme uses a fanless design, so it produces no audible fan noise even under continuous load.
