Product identity

The Dell Latitude 7240 2-in-1 is a 14.0 inch convertible laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor with a 4.8 GHz turbo frequency, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe drive. The touchscreen supports 1920 x 1080 resolution and the chassis has a carbon fibre finish.

Setup checks

Verify that your peripherals use USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 or Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C connections, as the system provides one Type-A port and two Type-C ports. Confirm that your external displays accept HDMI input for video output. Ensure your network infrastructure supports 802.11ax wireless and Bluetooth 5.1 for full connectivity.

Thermals and power

The Tiger Lake core operates at a 3.0 GHz base frequency and reaches 4.8 GHz under load, so the cooling system will spin up during sustained workloads. Expect audible fan noise when the processor maintains high turbo speeds. The included charger supplies power for the battery and components; the headphone and microphone combo jack handles audio without extra draw.
