Genuine Dell Latitude 7280 7380 Palmrest Assembly

This genuine Dell OEM palmrest touchpad assembly is designed for Latitude 7280 and 7380 laptops. It carries the Dell part number 3PMR1 and includes the touchpad module, mouse buttons and LED indicator light with cable. The unit is supplied new and matches the components shown in the product imagery.

EMEA Layout Changes Keyboard Compatibility

The assembly uses an EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) key layout and will not support US-English keyboards. It also does not accommodate a smart card reader. Included sub-parts are touchpad module 5PK1M, mouse buttons HR8RF and indicator cable 9XWHC, which together restore full pointing and click functionality.

For Latitude 7280 7380 Owners Needing EMEA Parts

This part suits technicians or owners repairing a Latitude 7280 or 7380 that originally shipped with an EMEA keyboard and no smart card reader. Buyers who require a US-English layout or smart card reader support should look at a different palmrest assembly.

Questions about this item

How often should the touchpad module 5PK1M be cleaned to keep it responsive?

Wipe the touchpad surface gently with a dry microfibre cloth whenever it feels sticky; the module has no user-serviceable internals and no scheduled cleaning interval.

Which component reaches its thermal limit first during continuous typing and clicking?

The palmrest assembly is a passive mechanical part with no active cooling, so it does not generate heat and has no thermal limit under normal use.

Does the LED indicator 9XWHC add noticeable heat or power draw when the laptop runs all day?

The indicator is a low-current status LED; it draws negligible power and produces no perceptible heat during extended operation.
