Business tablet for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7285 is a 12.3 inch Windows tablet built for workers who need a full desktop operating system in a detachable form factor. It runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with support for English, French and Spanish languages. The 3:2 aspect ratio suits document editing and web browsing in portrait or landscape orientation.

Core specification: 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7Y57

The processor is a dual-core i5-7Y57 running at 1.20 GHz with two threads, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR3 memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. This combination determines whether the device can handle your workload; it is adequate for office applications, email and light multitasking but not for heavy rendering or virtualisation. Buyers who need sustained multi-core performance or fanless silence under load should look elsewhere.

Installation and common issues

The tablet arrives with the operating system pre-installed, so initial setup follows the standard Windows out-of-box experience. Driver updates are delivered through Windows Update or the Dell support site using the service tag. The USB Type-C port handles charging, data and video, so a compatible dock or hub is required for legacy peripherals. Some users report that the infrared camera requires a separate Windows Hello enrolment step before facial recognition works reliably.
