Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5 inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.9 GHz with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid state drive. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed and includes integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 for everyday visual tasks. The compact chassis suits users who prioritise low weight and a small footprint over screen real estate.

Connectivity limited by single Thunderbolt 3 port

The notebook provides one Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, a Gigabit Ethernet jack and a microSD card reader. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2. The Thunderbolt 3 interface supports data and video but only one such port is present, so docking multiple high-bandwidth peripherals requires a hub. The HDMI output drives external displays up to the panel's native 1366 x 768 resolution.

Straightforward setup

Initial configuration is standard: attach the supplied charger, power on and follow the Windows 10 Pro setup wizard. The 8GB of DDR4 memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded later. Storage expansion is restricted to the single M.2 NVMe slot already occupied by the 1TB drive, so adding capacity means replacing the existing SSD. Driver installation for Thunderbolt 3 and Intel UHD Graphics 620 usually completes automatically through Windows Update.
