Dell Latitude 7290 and 7390 Palmrest Assembly

This genuine Dell palmrest touchpad assembly replaces the original input surface on Latitude 7290 and 7390 laptops configured without a smart card reader. It restores full cursor control and click functionality for daily productivity tasks.

Includes Touchpad Module and Mouse Buttons

The package supplies the touchpad module (part 2W4VC) and separate mouse buttons (part HR8RF) as a single integrated unit. Installing this assembly returns both pointer navigation and physical click response without requiring separate component sourcing.

Verify Laptop Model and Smart Card Configuration

Confirm your device is a Latitude 7290 or 7390 built without a smart card reader before ordering. This assembly is not compatible with smart-card-equipped variants or other Dell laptop families.

Questions about this item

How often should the touchpad module 2W4VC or mouse buttons HR8RF be replaced under normal use?

The touchpad module 2W4VC and mouse buttons HR8RF are built for the laptop's service life and typically do not need scheduled replacement unless physical damage or failure occurs.

What is the first limitation when using the palmrest assembly continuously for long periods?

The assembly is a passive mechanical part with no electronic limits; sustained use is only constrained by the laptop's own thermal or power management.

Does the palmrest generate any extra heat or noise when the laptop runs all day?

The palmrest itself has no moving or powered components so it adds no heat or noise beyond what the laptop chassis already produces.
