Compact business ultraportable

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5-inch laptop built for professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine with a quad-core Intel Core i7 8650U processor running at 1.90GHz. It suits mobile workers and office users who value portability and a mature manageability platform over raw graphics power or a large display.

Display and connectivity limits

The 1366 x 768 HD panel offers basic clarity for documents and web apps but lacks the pixel density for detailed design work or comfortable multi-window editing. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; the single Thunderbolt port provides high-speed I/O, yet the HDMI and LAN ports remain the only native video and wired network outputs.

Straightforward deployment

The chassis uses standard screws and the memory and SSD are accessible after removing the base cover, so IT teams can verify the 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD or perform a clean OS install without special tools. Common issues include the low-resolution screen appearing dim in bright offices and the single Thunderbolt port requiring a dock or hub when multiple peripherals are needed simultaneously.
