Compact 12.5 inch business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5 inch laptop built for mobile professionals who need a durable unibody chassis. It runs Windows 10 Home on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with a base frequency of 1.90 GHz. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1366 x 768 HD display. The non-touch screen keeps weight down for frequent travel.

32 GB DDR4 memory and 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD

Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory provides ample headroom for heavy multitasking, virtual machines and large browser workloads. The 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD offers fast boot and application loading while preserving battery life. Storage-intensive users working with massive local media libraries or engineering datasets may find the capacity limiting compared to larger drives.

Thunderbolt 3 USB-C and HDMI connectivity

A single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port delivers high-speed data, video output and charging through one compact connector. One HDMI port supports external monitors or projectors for presentations. Two USB 3.0 Type-A ports handle legacy peripherals. Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 cover wired and wireless networking. The MicroSD card reader adds removable storage flexibility.

Questions about this item

Will the 12.5" HD screen and Intel UHD Graphics 620 handle the external monitors I already use over HDMI and Thunderbolt?

The laptop provides one HDMI port and a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3, so you can connect existing displays using either interface. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives both the built-in 1366 x 768 panel and external screens simultaneously.

How can I verify the quad-core i7-8650U and 32GB DDR4 are performing correctly after first boot?

Open Task Manager and confirm four cores at 1.90 GHz base speed under the Performance tab, then check that 32 GB of DDR4 memory is reported. Run a quick benchmark or heavy multitasking session to see sustained clock speeds and memory bandwidth.

Does the box include a Thunderbolt dock or only the laptop, charger and battery?

The package contains the laptop, its charger and the installed battery. A Thunderbolt dock, additional adapters or peripherals are not included and must be purchased separately.
