Genuine Dell OEM replacement part

This is a genuine Dell OEM bottom base cover assembly for the Latitude 7340 Ultralight laptop. It arrives in new condition with the Dell part number 5P1MJ. The assembly includes eight captive screws and the rubber feet. It is intended for technicians or owners repairing the chassis of this specific model.

Replaces a damaged or missing bottom cover

This assembly replaces the original bottom base cover on a Latitude 7340 Ultralight when it is cracked, warped or lost. The jump is worth it when the existing chassis no longer secures internal components or sits flat on a desk. It restores the structural integrity of the ultralight frame without requiring a full laptop replacement.

Fits the Latitude 7340 Ultralight chassis

The cover mates directly to the Latitude 7340 Ultralight body using the eight included captive screws. No additional fasteners or adhesives are required for installation. The integrated rubber feet are already fitted, so the repair immediately restores stable desk placement and protects the internal hardware from dust ingress.

Questions about this item

Does the Dell Latitude 7340 Ultralight bottom base cover assembly 5P1MJ include the captive screws needed for mounting?

Yes, the assembly ships with eight captive screws already fitted, so no separate screw kit is required for installation.

What is the correct order for tightening the eight captive screws when fitting the 5P1MJ base cover on a Latitude 7430 Ultralight?

Align the cover, start all eight captive screws by hand, then tighten them in a cross pattern to seat the cover evenly without warping the chassis.

Are the rubber feet on the 5P1MJ base cover replaceable separately if they wear down?

The rubber feet are moulded into the base cover assembly; when they wear out the whole cover must be replaced.
