Genuine Dell OEM palmrest assembly with touchpad, smart-card reader and junction board for Latitude 7390 2-in-1 laptops
This genuine Dell OEM palmrest assembly is designed specifically for the Latitude 7390 2-in-1 laptop. It integrates the touchpad module, mouse buttons, smart card reader and junction board into a single replacement unit. The part arrives new and matches the original factory specifications.
As a passive input assembly, this palmrest generates no operational heat and draws no electrical power from the system. It adds no audible noise during normal use and relies entirely on the laptop's existing thermal design. Installation simply restores the original input and security functions.
The assembly fits only the Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 chassis and connects via the internal junction board. It restores the integrated smart card reader for secure authentication workflows. Buyers needing a palmrest without smart card support or a different keyboard layout will not be served by this part.

Remove the bottom cover, disconnect the battery, then detach the keyboard and palmrest cables. The step people miss is reseating the junction board and smart card reader flex cables under the new palmrest before screwing it down.
The touchpad surface and physical buttons are wear items. Clean the sensor window with a microfibre cloth and isopropyl alcohol; replace the palmrest assembly if clicking becomes inconsistent or cursor tracking degrades.
The smart card reader is rated for 56 000 insertion cycles; after that the contact springs can weaken, causing read errors before the touchpad or buttons wear out.
