Business laptop with 14-inch FHD display

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14-inch Full HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with 12MB cache and up to 4.8GHz turbo speed. It ships with 16GB memory and a 256GB solid-state drive running Windows 11 Professional. The non-touch display offers 1920 x 1080 resolution with Intel Iris Xe graphics.

Mobile professionals needing quad-core performance

This configuration suits users who require quad-core processing for multitasking, office applications and video calls while travelling light at 2.78kg. Buyers who want a touchscreen for direct pen input or a larger display for multi-window workflows should look at other models.

16GB soldered memory configuration

The system includes 16GB of memory that determines how many applications run smoothly at once. This capacity cannot be upgraded after purchase, so buyers anticipating heavier workloads must decide if this amount meets their long-term needs.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" FHD 1920 x 1080 display and USB Type-C port let me keep using my older HDMI monitor and USB-A dock?

The HDMI port connects your existing monitor directly, while the USB Type-C and USB Gen 1 ports accept legacy USB-A peripherals with standard adapters or cables.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-1185G7 is hitting its 4.8 GHz boost and the 16 GB memory is recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab; the CPU graph should show speeds approaching 4.8 GHz under load and the memory total should read 16 GB.

Does the box include a power adapter and an SD card reader, or must I buy them separately?

The laptop has a built-in SD card reader; the power adapter is included in the box, so no separate purchase is needed for either.
