Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-1165G7 quad-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with 16 MB cache. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch LED display and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handle daily productivity tasks. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Connectivity and input features

Two USB ports and one HDMI output provide essential peripheral connections for docking or external displays. A backlit keyboard improves visibility in low-light environments, while the integrated webcam supports video conferencing without extra hardware. Audio ports are present for headset use. These built-in elements reduce the need for separate adapters or accessories.

Suited to general office workloads

This configuration suits professionals who need a portable 14.0-inch device for document work, web apps and video calls with 16 GB of memory and fast NVMe storage. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a touchscreen should look at other models. The integrated graphics and 32 GB memory ceiling limit suitability for intensive creative or engineering applications.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The system supports up to 32 GB, so the installed 16 GB DDR4 can be expanded with compatible modules.

What limits sustained performance first on the Core i7-1165G7?

The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory and thermal budget, so heavy GPU workloads will hit thermal or memory bandwidth limits before the quad-core CPU does.

How loud or hot does the 14-inch chassis get during an all-day workload?

The compact 14.0" design relies on a single fan; expect noticeable fan noise and warm keyboard deck when the 2.6 GHz quad-core processor and Iris Xe graphics run continuously.
