Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14-inch business laptop built for professionals who need a reliable daily driver. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor with 8MB cache. The system includes 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe solid state drive. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics power the 1920 x 1080 LED display.

Mobile workers and office users

This laptop suits mobile workers who value a 14.0-inch screen, long battery life up to 17 hours and a backlit keyboard for travel. It also fits office users needing HDMI output, a webcam and Windows 11 Pro manageability. Buyers who want more storage than 512GB or more memory than the 32GB maximum should look elsewhere. Gamers or creators needing discrete graphics will not find that here.

512GB PCIe NVMe drive

The single specification that decides fit is the 512GB PCIe NVMe solid state drive. It sets the total capacity available for the operating system, applications and local files. If your workload demands a larger internal volume, this drive size is the limiting factor. No other drive bay or larger factory option is described in the data.

Questions about this item

Will the 512 GB NVMe drive fit a standard M.2 slot if I upgrade later?

Yes, the 512 GB NVMe drive uses the standard M.2 form factor, so any replacement NVMe SSD of the same physical length will fit the slot.

Does Windows 11 Pro come pre-activated, or do I need to enter a key during setup?

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and pre-activated; the licence is tied to the hardware, so no product key entry is required on first boot.

Can the 8 GB DDR4 memory be expanded to the 32 GB maximum, and how many slots are free?

The system supports up to 32 GB of DDR4; with 8 GB installed, at least one SODIMM slot remains free for an upgrade.
