A 256GB NVMe PCIe SSD provides fast boot and application loading. Windows 10 Pro, HDMI, USB Type-C, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 support mobile professionals who need reliable connectivity on the move.

Thermals and power in daily use

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles office workloads and video playback without a discrete GPU, keeping heat output modest during typical productivity tasks. The efficient 7th generation Core U-series processor helps extend battery runtime between charges. Fan noise remains low during document editing, web browsing and conferencing, suiting quiet environments.

Behaviour under sustained load

Under continuous multi-core workloads the dual-core CPU will throttle to manage temperatures, so extended compiles or large data processing run slower than on higher-wattage chips. The 8GB memory ceiling limits simultaneous virtual machines or heavy creative suites. Buyers who need more storage, more RAM or discrete graphics for rendering should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I install a second NVMe drive in the M.2 slot, and which screw size do people lose?

The 7480 has one M.2 PCIe slot occupied by the 256GB NVMe drive; there is no second M.2 slot, so a second NVMe cannot be added.

What maintenance will the 8GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 8GB DDR4 is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded or replaced; no user maintenance is possible.

What thermal limit appears first on the i5-7300U during sustained loads?

The dual-core i5-7300U with Intel HD Graphics 620 hits its thermal ceiling quickly under continuous load, throttling clock speeds to manage heat.
