Mobile workstation for frequent travellers

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 suit professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine for office applications and client presentations on the move.

Durable chassis with versatile docking options

A slim black frame houses three USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI output and a single USB-C Thunderbolt 3 connection for high-speed peripherals or external displays. Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 handle wired and wireless networking. A microSD card reader and integrated webcam complete the I/O set, so the system slides into desk or meeting-room setups without extra dongles.

Replaces bulkier legacy notebooks for core

The NVMe SSD and efficient Skylake architecture deliver fast boot and load times while preserving battery life during transit. It upgrades owners of older hard-drive laptops who need quicker storage and modern USB-C expandability. Buyers who want more storage capacity, a dedicated graphics processor or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

The Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port supports the Thunderbolt standard for high-speed data, display output and power delivery through a single connector.

What are the physical dimensions and mounting requirements for adding a second M.2 drive?

The laptop includes one M.2 slot occupied by the 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD; no second M.2 slot is listed in the specifications.

How is the 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD installed, and what step do people often miss?

The SSD comes pre-installed in the M.2 slot with Windows 10 Pro already configured; the common oversight is forgetting to initialise the drive in Disk Management if a clean OS install is performed.
