Mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz. It comes with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB SATA M.2 SSD, driving a 1920 x 1080 non-touch FHD display through integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Travel-ready productivity

This configuration suits professionals who need a lightweight 14 inch chassis with Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI for docks or projectors, plus 32GB of RAM for heavy multitasking and virtual machines. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics for 3D workloads, or a larger screen for detailed design work should look at other models.

32GB DDR4 memory

The single specification that decides fit is the 32GB DDR4 capacity, which is soldered and not upgradeable. If your workflow regularly exceeds this limit, the laptop will throttle to swap and you will need a system with higher or expandable memory.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get when the i7-6600U runs at 2.6 GHz all day?

The i7-6600U is a low-power dual-core chip with integrated HD Graphics 520, so the cooling fan stays quiet during typical office workloads and only spins up noticeably under sustained heavy loads.

Which cables or adapters must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports?

You need a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C cable for the Thunderbolt 3 port and a standard HDMI cable for the HDMI port; both ports are built in and require no extra dock.

Will the 32 GB DDR4 and SATA M.2 SSD work smoothly with my older USB 3.0 peripherals?

Yes, the three USB 3.0 ports provide 5 Gbps bandwidth that is fully backward compatible with existing USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices, while the internal DDR4 memory and SATA M.2 SSD operate independently.
