Dell Latitude 7480 14.0" business laptop

This new Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It is built for professionals who need a portable machine with a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. The dual-core i7-6600U processor at 2.6GHz and 16GB of memory handle office applications and multitasking. Integrated Intel HD Graphics drive the screen without a discrete GPU.

Installation notes for IT deployment

The laptop arrives with Windows 11 Pro already installed so deployment can begin immediately. The 512GB SSD is the primary storage and the memory is at the 16GB maximum supported, leaving no internal slots for expansion. There is no webcam fitted, so video conferencing requires an external camera. Three USB ports and one HDMI output provide the standard connectivity for peripherals and external displays.

Sustained workload thermal behaviour

Under continuous load the dual-core processor and integrated graphics share the same thermal envelope within the 0.67 inch thin chassis. The 4MB L3 cache helps maintain throughput during extended compile or spreadsheet tasks. Fan noise will increase as the system manages heat over long periods. Battery runtime decreases noticeably when the CPU and GPU are both stressed for hours.
