Business ultraportable with Thunderbolt 3

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.6 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 128GB SATA M.2 SSD. The non-touch display delivers a 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution driven by integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for professional use.

Upgrade from slower storage

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the 128GB SATA M.2 SSD cuts boot and application load times significantly. The jump is worth it when moving from a system without Thunderbolt 3, as the single USB-C port adds high-speed peripheral and docking options. The 6th generation Core i7 architecture also improves efficiency over earlier dual-core designs.

Suits mobile professionals needing dock connectivity

This unit fits users who rely on HDMI output for projectors and Thunderbolt 3 for compact docking stations. The 8GB memory and 128GB capacity limit buyers who want more storage or heavier multitasking headroom. Builders needing a dedicated graphics card or a touchscreen should look at something else. Grade B condition means visible cosmetic blemishes are present.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.0 inch chassis accept a 2.5 inch drive caddy?

The 14.0 inch Latitude 7480 uses a single M.2 SATA SSD slot; there is no 2.5 inch bay or caddy support.

What is the correct order for seating the M.2 SATA SSD so the screw aligns?

Insert the 128GB M.2 SATA SSD at an angle, press flat, then secure with the single retention screw; skipping the press-down step leaves the drive loose.

When will the internal 3-cell battery need replacement under daily mobile use?

The integrated 3-cell battery typically lasts 2-3 years before capacity drops below 80%; replacement requires removing the bottom cover and disconnecting the cable.
