Dell Latitude 7490 14" Aluminium Lid Assembly

This genuine Dell OEM aluminium back cover lid assembly fits the Latitude 7490 laptop. It is designed for models equipped with a 14 inch touchscreen LCD, a thin 3 mm camera module and the optional aluminium finish. The part replaces a damaged or worn lid on compatible systems.

Replaces cracked or dented aluminium lid

The assembly restores the original structural integrity and appearance when the existing cover is physically damaged. The upgrade is worth it when the lid shows bending, deep scratches or broken mounting points that affect screen alignment or hinge function. It matches the factory aluminium specification exactly.

Direct swap using existing hinge screws

Installation reuses the original hinge screws and the thin 3 mm camera module from the old lid. The most common issue is ordering this aluminium version for a plastic-finish or non-touchscreen model, which have different part numbers. Verify the Dell part number 9N9WD or RV4YT before fitting.

Questions about this item

Will this 14" aluminium lid assembly fit my Latitude 7490 with touchscreen and thin 3 mm camera?

Yes, it is built for the Latitude 7490 with touchscreen LCD, thin 3 mm camera module and the optional aluminium finish. Verify part numbers 9N9WD or RV4YT before ordering.

How do I install the replacement lid assembly on the 7490, and what step is often missed?

Remove the display bezel, disconnect the hinge screws and cables, then swap the aluminium cover; the step often missed is re-routing the antenna and camera cables exactly as they were.

Does the aluminium finish on this 7490 lid assembly require any special care or periodic replacement?

No special maintenance is needed; the aluminium cover is a structural part that lasts the life of the laptop unless it suffers physical damage.
