Dell Latitude 7490 14-inch FHD Touch

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD touchscreen. It runs on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.9GHz with 8MB cache. The system includes 32GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB SATA SSD. Windows 11 Professional is pre-installed.

Suited for mobile professionals needing touch input

This configuration suits users who want a responsive touchscreen for annotations or presentations. The 32GB RAM supports heavy multitasking across business applications. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics processor for 3D rendering or video editing should consider other configurations. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles standard office workloads and video playback.

512GB SATA SSD determines storage speed

The single specification that decides fit is the 512GB SATA solid-state drive. It provides solid-state reliability and quiet operation for the operating system and files. Users needing higher sequential throughput for large media projects would need a different storage interface. The SATA interface sets the performance ceiling for this drive.

Questions about this item

Does the 7490 need a separate charger, or can the USB-C port power it?

The 7490 includes a 4-cell lithium-ion battery and ships with its own AC adapter; the single USB-C port is for data and video only, not for charging.

Will the three USB 3.0 ports and HDMI output work with my older USB-A mouse, keyboard and 1080p monitor?

Yes, the three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and the HDMI 1.4 output are fully backward-compatible with legacy USB-A peripherals and 1080p displays.

How can I confirm the 1.9 GHz i7-8650U and 32 GB DDR4 are running at their rated speeds after setup?

Open Task Manager → Performance tab; the CPU should show four cores at up to 1.9 GHz base clock and the memory line should read 32 GB DDR4.
