Business laptop for daily productivity

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch notebook built around an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor running at 1.90 GHz. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and 16GB of DDR4 2400 memory for responsive multitasking in office environments. A 256GB solid state drive provides fast boot and application load times. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handle standard display output without discrete graphics overhead.

Capacity and headroom for typical workloads

The 16GB memory configuration supports multiple browser tabs, document editing and video conferencing simultaneously without paging. The 256GB SSD accommodates the operating system, core applications and a working set of local files comfortably. Storage headroom becomes limited when users keep large media libraries, extensive project archives or multiple virtual machine images on the internal drive. Integrated graphics restrict 3D rendering, modern gaming and GPU accelerated compute tasks to basic levels only.

Deciding specification: 14 inch non-touch 1280 x

The screen is a 14.0 inch non-touch panel with a 1280 x 1024 resolution, which determines the available workspace and visual clarity for text heavy tasks. Buyers who need higher pixel density for detailed design work, multi window layouts or external monitor independence should note this constraint. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ac and Bluetooth is included. The unit includes an AC adapter and webcam for remote collaboration.

Questions about this item

Will the 14 inch 1280 x 1024 display scale correctly with my older external monitors?

The built-in panel is 14.0 inches with a 1280 x 1024 resolution, so Windows 11 Pro will handle DPI scaling independently for each connected display.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-8650U and 16 GB DDR4 2400 memory are running at their rated speeds after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and verify the processor shows 1.90 GHz base speed and the memory reads 2400 MHz DDR4.

Does the package include the AC adapter, or do I need to source a charger separately?

An AC adapter is included with the unit, so no separate charger purchase is required.
