Dell Latitude 7490 with USB-C dock

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5 8250U quad-core processor running at 1.70GHz. It comes with 8GB of memory and a 256GB PCIe SSD for responsive everyday performance. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. The bundle includes a Kensington LD4650P USB-C docking station that adds dual video outputs and a K-Fob Smart Lock for physical security.

Check USB-C port and OS needs

Verify that your existing workflow can use a single USB-C connection for power, data and two external monitors. The dock secures thin-and-light laptops between 11 and 15 inches, so confirm the chassis fits that range. The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; plan for any required OS upgrades or downgrades before deployment. A fingerprint reader is built in for biometric login.

Thermals noise and power in office use

The 15-watt U-series processor and integrated graphics keep heat and fan noise low during typical productivity tasks such as document editing, video calls and web browsing. Shared system memory for the GPU avoids a separate graphics power draw. The USB-C dock supplies power to the laptop through one cable, reducing desktop cable clutter. Expect quiet operation suitable for open-plan or shared workspaces.
