Latitude 7490 14" Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5-7300U processor running at 2.60GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB M.2 SSD. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed with multi-language support for English, French and Spanish. The chassis includes HDMI, three USB 3.1 ports, DisplayPort over USB Type-C, a combination audio jack and RJ-45 Ethernet.

Suited for mobile professionals.

This configuration suits office workers, remote staff and students who need a lightweight, managed Windows device with enough memory for typical multitasking. Buyers who need discrete graphics for video editing, 3D rendering or gaming should look at a different class of machine. The integrated graphics and U-series processor are not designed for sustained high-performance compute tasks.

16GB DDR4 memory decides multitasking headroom

The single specification that determines whether this unit fits the workload is the 16GB of DDR4 memory. It allows several business applications and browser tabs to run together without swapping to the 256GB SSD. Users whose workflows regularly exceed 16GB of active memory will need a system that supports a higher capacity.
