Dell Latitude 7490 for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.1 inch laptop built for professionals who travel or meet clients regularly. It runs on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with a base clock of 1.90 GHz and Turbo Boost up to 4.2 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1920 x 1080 Full HD non-touch display.

Straightforward setup with Grade B screen notes

Windows 10 Home x64 comes pre-installed so the laptop is ready to use after the initial out-of-box configuration. Connect the included charger and battery, then follow the on-screen prompts. The main point to note is the Grade B LCD condition: the screen shows white spots that are visible on light backgrounds but do not affect touch or input functions. No optical drive is fitted, so any legacy media must be read through an external USB device.

Verify ports, memory limits

Check that your peripherals match the available connections: three USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI output, one Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, a microSD card reader and Gigabit Ethernet. The 8GB DDR4 configuration is soldered and cannot be upgraded, so confirm this capacity meets your workload requirements. Wireless uses 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.2. The unit ships with Windows 10 Home; a separate Windows 11 Pro upgrade is available if your environment requires it.
