Latitude 7490 i7-8650U 14" FHD

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 8MB cache. It runs Windows 11 Pro on 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display with LED backlight.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Travellers and client-facing professionals gain from the slim chassis, Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI for docks, projectors or external screens. Buyers needing dedicated graphics for rendering or gaming, more than 8GB of memory, larger internal storage, a touchscreen or a bigger display should consider other models.

Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI connectivity

A single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port and one HDMI output handle video, data and docking through one cable. Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.2 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi complete the wired and wireless link options. The MicroSD reader adds quick media transfer.

The quad-core processor has an 8 MB cache and runs at 1.9 GHz base; sustained turbo duration depends on the laptop's cooling solution which is not detailed in the specifications

What fan noise or surface temperatures should I expect when the system runs flat-out all day?

The integrated UHD 620 graphics share system memory and the CPU has a 4.2 GHz maximum turbo; actual acoustics and skin temperatures will vary with workload and ambient conditions

Which cables or docks do I already need to drive two external monitors through the Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports?
