Dell Latitude 7490 Palmrest Assembly

This genuine Dell palmrest assembly is built for the Latitude 7490 laptop. It restores the integrated touchpad, fingerprint reader and smart card reader in a single replacement part. Technicians and IT departments use it to repair worn or damaged input and security hardware.

Bundled Modules Restore Full Function

The package includes the touchpad module, mouse buttons, fingerprint reader module, smart card reader module, USH junction board, fingerprint ribbon cable and LED indicator light with cable. Each component is pre-assembled so the palmrest delivers complete pointing, biometric login and smart card authentication without sourcing separate pieces.

Direct Fit for Latitude 7490 Only

Designed to the Dell N0T29 and HPH9G part numbers, this assembly matches the 7490 chassis and connector layout exactly. It will not fit other Latitude models or third-party laptops, so buyers needing a different form factor must source the correct part for their specific device.

Questions about this item

How often will the fingerprint reader module or smart card reader module need replacement?

These modules are built into the palmrest assembly and are not designed for user replacement; if either fails the whole assembly is swapped.

What is the first limit reached when the touchpad and buttons are used continuously?

The XKYX9 mouse buttons and 78RRW touchpad module are rated for normal office duty; mechanical wear on the buttons is the first limit.

Does the palmrest assembly generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day use?

The assembly has no active cooling or moving parts beyond the buttons, so it adds no audible noise or measurable heat.
