Genuine Dell Latitude E5400 LCD Back Cover

This is a genuine Dell 14.1" LCD back cover assembly designed for the Latitude E5400 laptop. It arrives new and carries Dell part number U625N for exact identification. The assembly includes the hinges, wireless and broadband antenna cables, and the LCD latch clip. It is intended for owners or technicians repairing a cracked or damaged top lid on this specific model.

Direct Replacement with Integrated Hinges and Cables

The part replaces the complete top lid plastic assembly on a Latitude E5400, restoring structural rigidity and antenna routing in one step. Because the hinges and cables are pre-fitted, the repair avoids separate hinge sourcing or cable threading. It covers the original chassis mounting points and latch mechanism without modification. Builders needing a different screen size, a touch-digitiser frame, or a non-Dell chassis cannot use this assembly.

Passive Mechanical Component with No Power Draw

The cover is a passive plastic and metal assembly that adds no electrical load, generates no heat, and produces no audible noise during operation. Normal use consists of opening and closing the lid, which the supplied hinges support smoothly. There are no fans, electronics, or thermal interfaces to consider. Installers should verify hinge tension and antenna alignment after fitting to ensure reliable wireless performance.

Questions about this item

Will this back cover fit my existing Latitude E5400 hinges and antenna cables?

Yes, the U625N assembly includes hinges, wireless/broadband antenna cables and the LCD latch clip, so it replaces the whole top lid on a Latitude E5400 without reusing old parts.

How can I verify the cover is correctly installed on my 14.1" Latitude E5400?

After fitting, the lid should close flush, the latch clip must engage securely, and both hinge brackets should align with the chassis screw points on the E5400.

Does the U625N package contain screws or a screwdriver for installation?

The assembly supplies the plastic lid, hinges, antenna cables and latch clip only; mounting screws and tools are not included and must be sourced separately.
