Product identity and intended user

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-5600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.20 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The system ships without an operating system so the buyer must provide their own licence and installation media.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This configuration suits professionals who need a compact business notebook with a sharp 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 for everyday productivity. It does not suit buyers who want a touchscreen, a pre-loaded Windows licence or more than 16 GB of total memory. The memory ceiling is 16 GB across two slots so anyone planning a larger upgrade should consider a different platform.

Deciding specification — storage interface

The storage drive uses a 2.5-inch SATA connection rather than a newer interface. Verify that your deployment or upgrade plan can accommodate a SATA SSD before purchasing.
