Ready-to-use 14" business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 arrives with a 14.0-inch FHD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution. An Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor runs at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles visual output. The system includes 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Expandable memory and storage foundation

Two memory slots are present and the 16GB DDR3 configuration reaches the maximum supported capacity. The 2.5-inch SATA drive bay holds the included 128GB SSD and can accept a larger SATA drive if more space is needed. No operating system means you choose and install Windows or Linux yourself. Bluetooth and a webcam are built in for connectivity and calls.

Suits buyers needing a configured legacy machine

This unit fits users who want a 5th-generation Intel laptop with full memory and a fresh SSD ready for a clean OS install. Buyers who require a pre-loaded operating system should look elsewhere. Those needing more than 128GB of internal storage without adding a second drive should consider other options. The 365-day parts and labour warranty covers the hardware.

Questions about this item

Will the i5-5300U throttle under a sustained 1080p compile workload?

The dual-core i5-5300U runs at 2.30 GHz base and 2.90 GHz turbo; sustained loads will hit thermal limits and reduce clocks.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when the CPU runs at turbo all day?

The compact 14.0" chassis uses a single fan; expect noticeable airflow noise and warm palm rests during continuous turbo operation.

Which operating system licence do I need to supply before the laptop will boot?

No operating system is installed; you must provide a Windows or Linux licence and installation media yourself.
