Purpose-built 14 FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch full-HD notebook driven by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD, while Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1920 x 1080 display. No operating system is installed.

Suits IT teams and tinkerers.

This unit fits departments that deploy their own Windows or Linux images and want a lightweight 14 inch chassis with a replaceable 2.5 inch drive bay and two memory slots supporting up to 16 GB total. Buyers who need a ready-to-run laptop with a pre-loaded OS, a larger factory SSD, or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Deciding spec: 128GB SATA SSD and no OS

The single specification that decides fit is the combination of a new 128GB 2.5 inch SATA solid-state drive and the absence of any operating system. If your workflow requires more onboard capacity out of the box or an immediate boot-to-desktop experience, this configuration will not meet that need.
