Dell Latitude E5450 business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i7-5600U processor with a 3.20 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 128GB SATA solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 FHD display is non-touch.

Windows 10 Pro and new SSD ready to work

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed so the system boots to a managed desktop without extra setup. The 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD is new, giving faster start-up and application load times than a mechanical drive. Bluetooth and an integrated webcam support video calls and peripheral pairing out of the box.

16GB memory ceiling and 128GB storage limit

The two memory slots are fully populated at 16GB, which is the maximum the platform supports, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The single 128GB drive handles the operating system and core applications, but users with large media libraries or multiple virtual machines will need external storage. Buyers who need more internal capacity or expandable memory should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How long will the 128GB SATA SSD last before I need to replace it?

The 128GB SATA SSD is new and has no moving parts; typical endurance for this capacity handles years of daily office workloads before a replacement is considered.

What stops the Core i7-5600U from holding its 3.20 GHz turbo during long renders?

The dual-core CPU reaches its thermal limit under sustained load, so clocks drop to the 2.60 GHz base frequency to stay within the cooling envelope.

How loud and hot does the 14.0 inch FHD chassis get when left on all day?

The thin 14.0 inch body uses a single fan; expect audible airflow and warm palm-rest areas after several hours of continuous use.
