Business ultraportable for managed deployments

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor running at 2.70 GHz with a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display is driven by Intel HD Graphics 530. The unit ships with no operating system installed.

IT teams refreshing fleets on a fixed image

This configuration suits organisations that deploy a standardised Windows or Linux image across identical hardware and want a uniform 1 TB NVMe baseline. The two memory slots allow an upgrade to 16 GB if workloads demand more headroom. Buyers who need a pre-installed OS, a touchscreen panel or discrete graphics should look at a different model.

No operating system means you supply the licence

The single decisive detail is the absence of any factory-installed operating system; you must provide and install Windows, Linux or another OS yourself before the laptop is usable.

Questions about this item

Will this E5470 run alongside my older DDR3 SO-DIMMs if I want to add more memory?

Yes, the system uses DDR3 memory and has two slots supporting up to 16 GB total, so existing DDR3 modules can be added if they match the speed and voltage.

How can I verify the 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD is detected and healthy after first boot?

Enter the BIOS or UEFI setup and confirm the drive appears with its full capacity; then run the built-in Dell diagnostics or a SMART tool to check health status.

What items are included in the box and what must I source separately?

The laptop, AC adapter and battery are included; an operating system, any additional RAM beyond the installed 8 GB, and peripherals are not supplied.
