Latitude E5470 business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor running at 2.70 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.60 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment in professional environments.

Installation and common issues

The system arrives fully assembled with the operating system already installed so no hardware assembly is required. Memory upgrades are possible using the second DDR3 slot up to a maximum of 16 GB supported by the platform. The M.2 NVMe drive is factory-fitted and should be recognised automatically by the BIOS on first boot.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This unit suits mobile professionals who need a compact 1366 x 768 display, quad-core performance and a fresh NVMe drive for general office workloads. Buyers who want more storage than 240GB or a touchscreen panel should consider other configurations. Those requiring a higher resolution screen or a dedicated graphics processor will need a different model.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-6820HQ is running at its 3.60 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU and watch the live frequency while a heavy load runs; it should climb toward 3.60 GHz on all four cores.

What comes in the box and what must I source separately?

The laptop, its AC adapter and Windows 10 Pro 64-bit are included; any external monitor, docking station, USB-C hub or extra DDR3 SODIMM must be purchased separately.

Should I choose the 240 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD or upgrade to the 16 GB memory limit?

The 240 GB NVMe drive is already installed; if you need more multitasking headroom, add a second 8 GB DDR3 module to reach the 16 GB maximum.
