14-inch FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor running at 2.70 GHz with a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Check memory ceiling and graphics needs

The system has two memory slots but the maximum supported capacity is 16 GB, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 handles the 1920 x 1080 display; verify that your workloads do not require discrete graphics acceleration. Confirm that your docking stations or peripherals match the available ports on this chassis.

Thermals noise and power in office use

The quad-core CPU and integrated graphics share a single cooling solution designed for typical business workloads such as document editing, web browsing and video conferencing. Under sustained load the fan becomes audible but remains within normal office background levels. Power draw stays modest thanks to the efficient processor and solid-state storage, allowing extended mobile use on battery.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop ship with the 500 GB NVMe SSD and 16 GB DDR3 already installed, or must I add them myself?

The 500 GB NVMe SSD and 16 GB DDR3 are factory-fitted; the system arrives ready to use with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed.

The memory slots total two but the maximum supported is 16 GB — does that mean this unit is already at the limit?

Yes, both slots are populated to reach the 16 GB ceiling, so no further RAM upgrade is possible.

With the i7-6820HQ reaching 3.60 GHz turbo and Intel HD Graphics 530, what sort of workloads will run smoothly?

The quad-core processor at up to 3.60 GHz handles office suites, video playback and light creative tasks; the integrated HD 530 graphics drives the 14.0" 1920 x 1080 panel capably for everyday use.
