Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop with an Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.60 GHz and turbo up to 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD. No operating system is installed, so the buyer must provide their own.

Suits mobile professionals needing dual-core speed

This configuration fits users who want a compact chassis with a dual-core CPU and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 for office applications and video conferencing. Buyers who want more storage capacity, a touchscreen display, a dedicated graphics processor or a pre-loaded Windows licence should look at other models.

No operating system included

The single detail that decides suitability is the absence of an operating system; the purchaser must acquire and install Windows or an alternative OS before the laptop can be used.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise does the Core i7-6600U generate when the Latitude E5470 runs all day?

The dual-core i7-6600U has a low base frequency of 2.60 GHz and a turbo of 3.40 GHz, so sustained loads stay within a modest thermal envelope; the 14.0" chassis uses a single fan that spins up only under heavy compute, keeping noise at office-background levels during typical business workloads.

What must I already own to make this Latitude E5470 boot and connect to a network?

The unit ships with no operating system, so you need a Windows or Linux licence and installation media; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hardware are built in, but you must supply your own router credentials and any external monitors or docks via the available video and USB ports.

Will my older DDR3 SO-DIMM sticks work alongside the 16 GB already installed in this E5470?

The laptop has two DDR3 slots and the 16 GB configuration already reaches the 16 GB maximum supported, so there is no free slot and no capacity headroom for additional modules; the existing memory is not user-removable without voiding the factory seal.
