Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E5470 ships with a 14.0 inch FHD display, an Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo, 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB NVMe drive. It arrives without an operating system so the buyer can install their preferred platform immediately.

No operating system included

The missing OS means the purchaser must supply and configure Windows, Linux or another system before the machine is productive. This also avoids pre-installed software that some organisations prefer to remove, giving IT teams a clean baseline for deployment.

Dual-core performance ceiling

The i7-6600U provides two cores and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520, which suits office applications and light multitasking but limits heavier workloads such as video editing or modern gaming. Memory is capped at 16GB across two slots, so no further RAM expansion is possible.

Questions about this item

Is the 16 GB DDR3 memory soldered or can a stick be swapped later?

The laptop has two memory slots and the 16 GB DDR3 fills the maximum supported capacity, so any future change means replacing the installed modules.

What stops the Intel Core i7-6600U from holding its 3.40 GHz turbo during long workloads?

The dual-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling first; once the cooling system saturates, clocks drop to the 2.60 GHz base to stay within temperature limits.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel after a full day of use?

Under continuous load the single fan spins up to an audible level and the bottom case becomes warm, typical for a 14.0 inch ultrabook chassis.
