Latitude E5470 for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-6820HQ running at 2.7 GHz. It comes with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The Full HD 1920 x 1080 non-touch screen and Windows 10 Pro make it ready for office workloads on the move.

Suits travellers; not for discrete graphics needs

This unit suits people who travel or meet clients and need HDMI plus mini DisplayPort for external displays. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 handles everyday video and productivity tasks. Buyers who want a dedicated GPU for rendering or gaming should look at something else. Grade B condition means visible cosmetic blemishes such as scratches or shiny keys.

Quad-core i7-6820HQ drives responsiveness

The four-core processor with 8 MB L2 cache provides the compute headroom for multitasking across business applications. Combined with 16 GB DDR4 and NVMe storage, it delivers quick boot and application loading. This CPU specification is the primary factor when deciding if the laptop matches your performance requirements.

Questions about this item

How do I install the NVMe SSD in this E5470, and which step is often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the M.2 drive at an angle into the slot, then secure it with the single screw; the step people skip is fastening that screw before reassembly.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16GB DDR4 memory need later?

The memory is soldered and not user-replaceable; future upgrades are not possible, so plan capacity at purchase.

At what point does the Intel HD Graphics 530 become the limit during sustained workloads?

The integrated GPU shares system memory and thermal budget with the CPU, so extended 3D or video tasks will throttle performance first.
