Core configuration

This Dell Latitude E5570 is a 15.6-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor with a base frequency of 2.40 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.00 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Intel HD Graphics 520 handles visual output.

Build integration

The laptop arrives with Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed and ready to use. Two memory slots are present, supporting a maximum of 16 GB if an upgrade is desired. The M.2 NVMe drive occupies the primary storage slot, leaving no 2.5-inch bay for an additional hard drive. Integrated graphics mean no discrete GPU power or cooling is required.

Ideal buyer

This unit suits professionals needing a reliable business laptop for office applications, web browsing and video conferencing with the integrated webcam. Buyers who want more storage than 1TB or require a discrete graphics card for demanding 3D work should look elsewhere. The DDR3 memory and 6th-generation processor also limit appeal for users needing modern memory speeds or newer instruction sets.

Questions about this item

Does the i5-6300U throttle to its 2.40 GHz base clock during long workloads?

Under sustained load the dual-core processor can drop from its 3.00 GHz turbo to the 2.40 GHz base frequency once thermal limits are reached.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when the Intel HD Graphics 520 runs all day?

The integrated GPU shares the same cooling as the CPU, so fan noise and surface temperature rise noticeably during extended use.

Which DDR3 SO-DIMM modules must I already have to reach the 16 GB maximum?

The board accepts two DDR3 SO-DIMMs; populating both slots with 8 GB sticks reaches the supported 16 GB ceiling.
