Dell Latitude E5570 15.6" FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E5570 is a 15.6-inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor at 2.60 GHz with turbo up to 3.40 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. No operating system is installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits buyers who need a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 display, Intel HD Graphics 520, and a new 1TB NVMe drive in a black Latitude chassis. It is not for users who require a touchscreen, a pre-installed operating system, or more than 16 GB of total memory across the two DDR3 slots.

The specification that decides fit

The single specification that decides fit is the 8GB DDR3 memory soldered alongside one open slot supporting a maximum of 16 GB total, which fixes the memory ceiling for any workload.

Questions about this item

Does the M.2 NVMe PCIe interface on the Latitude E5570 deliver full drive bandwidth?

The 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD connects through the PCIe interface, giving the drive its full rated throughput without an older storage bottleneck.

What physical space and module type does the E5570 require for a storage upgrade?

The laptop uses a single M.2 slot for the 1 TB NVMe PCIe drive; a replacement must be an M.2 form-factor NVMe module.

How is the NVMe SSD installed in the E5570, and what step is often missed?

Insert the M.2 NVMe module into the internal M.2 slot at an angle, press it flat, and secure it with the retention screw; many people forget the screw, leaving the drive loose.
