Latitude E7440 Touch Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude E7440 is a 14.0-inch FHD touchscreen ultrabook built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 4th Gen Intel Core i5-4300U dual-core processor with Intel HD Graphics 4400. The system includes 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 1TB SATA SSD in a 2.5-inch form factor. A black textured chassis houses the 1920 x 1080 LED display.

Suited for office work

This laptop fits users who need a dependable business machine with touch input and solid-state storage for everyday productivity. The integrated graphics and dual-core CPU handle document editing, web browsing and video playback without difficulty. Buyers who require discrete graphics for rendering, more than two memory slots, or a newer processor architecture should consider other options.

1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD capacity

The single specification that decides fit is the 1000GB SATA solid-state drive in the 2.5-inch bay. It provides the operating system, applications and data with solid-state responsiveness and enough room for large local file sets. Confirm that your workflow fits within this capacity and that the SATA interface matches any upgrade plans you may have.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.9 GHz Intel Core i5-4300U throttle during long workloads?

The dual-core 1.9 GHz Intel Core i5-4300U with Intel HD Graphics 4400 manages sustained office tasks within its ultrabook thermal envelope; heavy multi-core loads will hit the processor's base frequency ceiling.

How loud and hot does the E7440 get when running all day?

Fan noise stays low during typical business use; the carbon-fibre chassis spreads heat from the 1.9 GHz Core i5-4300U and Intel HD Graphics 4400 so the keyboard deck remains warm rather than hot.

What must I already own to use the HDMI and VGA outputs on this Latitude?

The laptop provides full-size HDMI and VGA ports; you only need a compatible monitor, projector or TV with the matching cable — no adapter or dock is required.
