Purpose-built mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude E7450 delivers a 14.0" FHD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution driven by an Intel Core i5-5200U dual-core processor with a 2.70 GHz turbo frequency. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles visual output. The system ships with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 500GB 2.5" SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Build integration

Two memory slots are present and the 16GB DDR3 configuration already reaches the maximum supported capacity. The 2.5" SATA drive bay holds the included 500GB SSD, leaving no internal slot for an additional 2.5" drive. Bluetooth and a webcam are integrated for peripheral connectivity and video conferencing without extra hardware.

Sustained operation

The dual-core processor maintains a 2.20 GHz base frequency under continuous load with turbo available up to 2.70 GHz when thermal headroom allows. Intel HD Graphics 5500 shares system memory during extended graphical workloads. The 500GB SATA SSD provides consistent read and write performance for long sessions without mechanical latency.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i5-5200U throttle at its 2.70 GHz turbo frequency during long workloads?

The dual-core processor reaches 2.70 GHz turbo but sustained loads will be limited by the cooling capacity of the 14.0" chassis.

How loud or hot does the laptop get when running all day on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500?

With no discrete GPU the Intel HD Graphics 5500 keeps heat modest, though the compact 14.0" body means fan noise rises under continuous use.

Do I need to supply my own operating system because the unit ships with No Operating System?

Yes, the laptop arrives with no OS installed so you must provide a Windows licence or alternative OS yourself.
